The caribou breed in October-November. Gestation period lasts about 7½-8 months. Females usually give birth to 1 or 2 calves. The newborn weighs about 11 lbs. The calves are born with their eyes open and covered with warm fur. Many exotic breeders can provide you with photo galleries and separate photos of the animals available.
